The Ghost Follies of Castle Hill
Sat against a backdrop of chalky-white cliffs, the Ghost Follies of Castle Hill are dramatic new beacons inspired by the unique history of this picturesque site. Etched concrete tiles levitate in the air, hung in space by a structural white lattice, metaphorically representing a block quarried and pulled from this land. The centre of this structure has been carved away to reveal an opening that creates an encased view of the sky above. This carved centre is reconfigured as a smaller folly, a ‘throne for one’ that overlooks this growing and changing landscape.
