HakFolly

Commissioned by Clerkenwell Design Week and in collaboration with Dutch wood flooring manufacturer Hakwood, FleaFolly created HakFolly, a stacked ‘temple of timber’ situated within the historic St John’s gate. Inspired by Clerkenwell’s rich monastic history and the unusual and unseen methods Hakwood use to store their timber products during fabrication, the installation is constructed solely from unfixed, stacked lengths of Hakwood Duoplank flooring, held together by nothing but lorry ratchet straps. HakFolly aimed to create a fleeting moment of peace and tranquillity for all who pass through it.
