A Pinch In Time
Commissioned by the Greenwich Peninsula and NOW Gallery, A Pinch In Time is a public artwork located along Millennium Way in North Greenwich. Taking inspiration from its rich and industrial legacy, FleaFolly used circular motifs from the surrounding context such as the Blackwall gas tower, the Millennium Dome and the Great Hall of Queens House to create a layered pattern imbued with its past. This layering created a vibrant pattern that was translated into more than 1200 individually digitally printed ceramic tiles. The centre of this tiled mural is physically ‘pinched’ to create a more 3-Dimensional form that would not only surprise the passer-by but change across the day under different weather conditions and when viewed from different perspectives.
